Carbopol® Aqua SF-1 (Acrylates Copolymer)

Carbopol® Aqua SF-1 is a pre-neutralized acrylates copolymer designed for surfactant systems. It provides excellent thickening, suspension, and clarity in shampoos, face washes, and shower gels. Unlike traditional carbomers, Aqua SF-1 offers electrolyte tolerance, making it suitable for formulations with salts, conditioning agents, or natural extracts. It enhances flow properties, product aesthetics, and consumer sensory experience, ensuring a stable and luxurious final product.

Recommended Usage Percentage

• Typical range: 0.2% – 2.0% depending on viscosity required.

• Shampoos / Body Washes / Face Washes: 0.5 – 1.5%

• Hand Washes / Shower Gels: 0.5 – 2.0%

• Facial Cleansers: 0.2 – 0.8% for lighter feel.

How to Use

• Add to Water Phase: Disperse Carbopol® Aqua SF-1 directly in water with gentle stirring.

• Add Surfactants / Actives: Slowly incorporate surfactants or active ingredients.

• Neutralization: This polymer is pre-neutralized (self-wetting, alkali-swellable), so in most cases no separate neutralizer is required.

• Mixing: Gentle mixing preferred to avoid air entrapment.

• Final pH: Works best in pH range 4.0 – 8.0.
