Ethylene Glycol Monostearate (EGMS) - pearlizing agent, opacifier, and emulsifier

• It enhances skin feel, adds mild emolliency, and improves the stability of formulations.
• EGMS is especially valued in surfactant-based products for its ability to create a creamy, pearlescent appearance while conditioning both skin and hair.

How to Use:

• Add to oil phase or melt separately before emulsification.

• Heat to 70–75°C for incorporation into emulsions.

• Best used with other emulsifiers (like stearic acid, cetyl alcohol, or non-ionic surfactants) for stability.

• In shampoos/body washes: disperse in the surfactant phase for pearlescent effect.

Usage Percentage:

• Shampoos & Body Washes: 1% – 3% (for pearl effect)

• Creams & Lotions: 2% – 5% (as emulsifier/emollient)

• Conditioners & Serums: 1% – 4%

• Cleansers & Face Washes: 1% – 3%
