Glycolic Acid (Liquid)

Glycolic Acid (liquid) is a powerful alpha hydroxy acid (AHA)

• Derived from sugarcane, widely used in skincare formulations for its exfoliating, brightening, and anti-aging benefits.
• It removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and promotes smoother, clearer, and radiant skin.
• Available in aqueous solution form, glycolic acid is highly effective in facial toners, serums, creams, peels, and body care products. A must-have active for acne-prone, dull, and aging skin formulations.

Usage Percentage:

• Daily Skincare (OTC): 2 – 5% (toners, cleansers, serums, creams)

• Professional Peels: 20 – 70% (strictly by dermatologists/clinics only)

• Body Care (lotions, washes): 2 – 10%

⚠️ Maximum safe leave-on limit (cosmetic use): 

10% with finished product pH ≥ 3.5 (as per cosmetic safety regulations).  Avoid combining with strong retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, or high-concentration vitamin C in the same routine (risk of irritation).

How to Use:

• Add to water phase of formulation.

• Requires pH adjustment with neutralizers (sodium hydroxide, ammonium hydroxide, tromethamine).

• Best formulated in pH 3.5 – 4.5 for effective exfoliation while minimizing irritation.

• Use chelating agents (EDTA) and stabilizers for longer shelf life.
